Sterling Point

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 2026

These terms govern your use of this website and any cruise you request or take with Sterling Point. By submitting a tour request you agree to them. They are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada.

1. Requests are not confirmed bookings

Submitting the tour request form is an enquiry, not a confirmed reservation and not a contract. Your sailing is only confirmed once we reply to you directly with a specific date, time and departure point. Availability, vessel and route are subject to change.

2. Pricing and payment

Prices shown on this site are in Canadian dollars, are per person unless stated otherwise, and exclude applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We confirm the final price, taxes and any deposit in writing before your cruise. We do not collect payment through this website. Prices may change until a sailing is confirmed.

3. Cancellations and changes

  • You may cancel or reschedule a confirmed cruise at no charge with at least 48 hours' notice.
  • Cancellations inside 48 hours, and no-shows, may forfeit any deposit paid.
  • If we cancel for weather, mechanical or safety reasons, you may reschedule at no charge or receive a full refund of amounts paid.

4. Weather, safety and the captain's authority

All sailings depend on conditions on Lake Muskoka. For your safety, the captain has final authority over whether a cruise departs, its route, and when it returns, and may shorten or cancel a sailing at any time. Passengers must follow crew instructions and all Transport Canada and Canadian Coast Guard safety requirements at all times. We may refuse boarding to anyone who is impaired, unsafe or abusive to guests or crew, without refund.

5. Guests, children and accessibility

Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult and wear a properly fitted personal flotation device where required. Tell us about mobility needs in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you; docks and vessels have physical limitations we will describe honestly rather than overstate.

6. Assumption of risk and limitation of liability

Boating involves inherent risks, including movement of the vessel, weather, water and slippery surfaces. You accept those ordinary risks. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Ontario or Canadian law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Subject to that, our total liability for any claim connected to a cruise is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as travel or accommodation costs.

7. Website content and accuracy

Photographs, route illustrations, filming-location references and schedules on this site are for illustration and may not depict a specific sailing. We aim to describe our cruises accurately and without misleading claims, as required by the Competition Act and Ontario consumer protection law. If you believe something here is inaccurate, please tell us and we will correct it.

8. Intellectual property

The content on this site, including text, photography and route illustrations, belongs to Sterling Point or its licensors. You may share and link to it, but not reproduce it commercially without permission. Third-party names and titles referenced on this site remain the property of their respective owners; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by any production company.

9. Privacy and electronic messages

Your personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. We send commercial electronic messages only with your consent and always include a working unsubscribe link, in accordance with CASL.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the version posted when you submit a request is the version that applies to it. Questions: (289) 928-1853.
